Eva Botten

Arrested in the fall of 2010, Eva is an activist from BC who was found
guilty of 6 counts of mischief over $5k and 1 count of disguise with intent
this past January 2012. The Crown alleges she caused over $300k of damages
to corporate targets, police headquarters and banks, during the 2010 G20 protests in Toronto.

Sean Swain

Sean Swain has been held captive by the State of Ohio since 1991 for the self-defense stabbing death of a court official’s relative who broke into Sean’s home. The Erie County, Ohio courts subjected him to an unfair trial and retrial motivated by political gain. Sean is the only son of a retired auto worker and stay-at-home mom. He has renounced his high school diploma (1987), his college degree (1993), and his Honarable discharge from the US Army (1989). Prior to captivity, he worked for a short time as a columnist for the Anchor Bay Beacon newspaper and volunteered as a union organizer.

Sean’s is a published writer with a large body of work.  He is the founding member of the Conditions Factory Publishing Collective based out of Toledo Correctional Institution. If he survives captivity, he intends to seek political asylum in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, or the Zapatista controlled areas of southern Mexico, where he will write and continue the struggle against the reactionary forces of international capital and imperial hegemony.

AMAZON & CAT

Amazon and Cat, are anti-civilization trans insurgents who are associated with Gender Anarky; a collective within the CA prison system.  They have been on hunger strike against the unfair treatment of trans women within R.J Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego County.  Prison officials refuse to take Amazon and Cat off of single-cell status because of their gender identity.  We can support Amazon and Cat by calling to demand that Eva Contreraz (C-45857) and Catarina LaPre (K-67313) be taken off single-cell status and be allowed to share a cell.  Demand an end to the discriminatory housing policy against trans women in the correctional facility.

Write to Amazon and Cat  Let them know you support their struggle against the the prison administration.

Miguel Balderos is an anarchist sentenced to 10 years and 8 months for the arson of the Santa Cruz, CA city prosecutor’s office. When apprehended, he allegedly told police that he was a homeless anarchist protesting the city’s ban on camping.

Bill Dunne is an anti-authoritarian sentenced to 90 years for the attempted liberation of an anarchist prisoner in 1979.

Bill Dunne was arrested in 1979 when he and Larry Giddings attempted to free fellow revolutionary Artie Ray Dufur.  The two successfully freed Artie, but were arrested after an exchange of fire with police as they were fleeing the scene.  Bill and Larry were charged with auto theft and aiding and abetting the escape, for which Bill received and 80 year federal prison sentence.  In 1983 Bill attempted to escape prison and was given another 15 years in prison.  Bill spent seven and a half years in lockdown at the infamous maximum security Marion prison for his attempted escape.  During his time in Marion he helped social prisoners pursue their education, both politically and academically. In one case he helped prisoner Ernesto Santiago receive his GED.  Bill also continues to stay active politically, helping edit and write 4Struggle Magazine, organizing the yearly Running Down the Walls 5K for political prisoners, and serves on the ABCF Prisoner Committee.

Marie Mason is a 46 year old mother of two. She lived and worked in the Detroit area for most of her life. Like the late Earth First! (EF!) organizer, Judi Bari, she was part of a generation of radicals who worked to link the environmental and labor movements, and was jointly active in both EF! and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). It was this alliance which led to the initial success of the anti-globalization movement such as at the 1999 anti-WTO demonstration in Seattle. Mason was an editor of the Industrial Worker, the IWW newspaper, and a musician who recorded a neo-folk album, Not For Profit, with fellow EF!er Darryl Cherney in 1999. She also worked with numerous political as well as traditional charity groups.

In addition to her work with the IWW and Earth First!, she is also an avid community gardener, a musician, a writer, and a volunteer for a free herbal healthcare collective. She also was an extended care assistant at a small Cincinnati school when she was arrested on March 10, 2008 by federal agents.

She has been charged with involvement with a December,1999 arson at a Michigan State University genetics laboratory at Agriculture Hall and a January, 2000 arson of logging equipment in Mesick, Michigan. Both arsons were claimed by the Earth Liberation Front.

NATO CHICAGO PRISONERS

Arrested shortly before, during, or after the NATO summit and charged with various offenses, among them: “Attempted possession of explosive or incendiary devices.”  Some of these prisoners are being held while awaiting trial (unless they get bailed out).  All those listed below are alleged to have been planning some sinister activity of some sort; with or without the assistance of closet cops.

Saturday May 19, 2012 five antifa men were arrested in Tinley Park, a Chicago Suburb, for allegedly assaulting a number of white-supremacist organizers.  Some of the alleged Nazi “victims” were also arrested; one for child pornography and another for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Cleveland 4

Five activists arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, (now 4) who face multiple charges for conspiring and attempting to destroy the Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge on May Day to protest corporate rule.  According to an FBI press statement (not the best source for objective truth) “the individuals charged in this plot were intent on using violence to express their ideological views.”  Sure, but then they always say something like that after they entrap people.  Essentially, the 5 were arrested and jailed after they attempted to detonate a false bomb that they had set, (at the suggestion of the FBI – which we reckon is where they got it from.)  The young activists were part of Occupy Cleveland and self-identified anarchists….not that we would suppose the FBI deliberately set out to make Occupy and anarchists look bad or anything.  Collectively, according to accounts from friends and associates, statements from lawyers, and the even the FBI’s own affidavit; members of the Cleveland Five have backgrounds that include mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness and social marginalization.  IOW, a couple of them might have been suggestible and ripe for the picking.  The Cleveland 5 now 4 are:  Douglas L. Wright, 26, of Indianapolis; Brandon L. Baxter, 20, of nearby Lakewood; Connor C. Stevens, 20, of suburban Berea; and Joshua S. Stafford.

Brandon grew up in Lakewood, Ohio and attended Lakewood High School.  His early life was difficult in many ways, but in the face of his hardships he became a skilled craftsman, specializing in leatherworking. Identifying strongly with his Blackfoot Native American ancestry, he often attended Native American pow-wows.  Brandon is a loyal friend and passionate individual and this can be seen in every aspect of his grassroots social activism.  He has done much work with Food Not Bombs, Occupy Cleveland, and door-to-door outreach programs.  Regularly engaging people in enlightening conversations, he has many good friends and a strong sense of community.
